Protecting our members from fraud is a top priority for NavyArmy Community Credit Union. To give our members additional card security, we have partnered with PRISM, the industry-leading Fraud Alert Service, which continuously monitors your MasterCard Debit Card activity to help identify and prevent fraudulent transactions on your account. If suspicious charges outside of the norm appear on your card, our Fraud Alert Service will attempt to contact you by phone via an automated messaging service. The automated message will be sent via SMS Text to mobile phones on file or sent via an interactive voice response (IVR) system to confirm the charges. The first contact is through a SMS text. If there is no response within a certain period of time (usually 15 minutes) or no mobile device on file, then an IVR call is initiated. If there is no response to the IVR, then we will wait approximately one hour and then repeat the sequence above. If we are unable to reach you using either of these methods, then a letter will be sent via U.S. mail. At any time during this verification process, your card may be temporarily blocked to prevent any fraudulent activity. The block will be removed once we are able to confirm with you that the charges are legitimate. For more information, please check our website for FAQs.
The text message will arrive from this 5-digit code (33748) and contain our name, dollar amount of the transaction, and merchant name. You will be asked to reply with “Yes” if you authorized the transaction. You will receive a confirming text message and can continue to use your card with confidence. A “No” reply means you have not authorized the transaction. You will receive a confirming text message and will be called immediately by a Fraud Specialist to protect your account. Please answer this important call.
When you return the call you will be directed to a Fraud Specialist. To verify your identity, you will be asked to verify the last four digits of your social security number and/or your address. You will then be prompted to confirm if recent transactions are legitimate. You will never be asked to provide your full social security number, account number, or confidential card information (ex. PIN or numbers on back of card).
If you need to update your contact information, please download the Address Change form on our website at http://www.navyarmyccu.com > Membership & Resources > Online Apps / Forms > Address Change. You can mail or fax signed form with a copy of current photo ID.
