LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL MISSION STATEMENT To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs.
LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL VISION STATEMENT To be the global leader in community and humanitarian service.
LIONS CODE OF ETHICS
To Show my faith in the worthiness of my vocation by industrious application to the end that I may merit a reputation for quality of service.
To Seek success and to demand all fair remuneration or profit as my just due, but to accept no profit or success at the price of my own self‐respect lost because of unfair advantage taken or because of questionable acts on my part.
To Remember that in building up my business it is not necessary to tear down another's; to be loyal to my clients or customers and true to myself.
Whenever a doubt arises as to the right or ethics of my position or action to‐ wards others, to resolve such doubt against myself.
To Hold friendship as an end and not a means. To hold that true friendship exists not on account of the service performed by one to another, but that true friendship demands nothing but accepts service in the spirit in which it is given.
Always to bear in mind my obligations as a citizen to my nation, my state, and my community, and to give them my unswerving loyalty in word, act, and deed. To give them freely of my time, labor and means. To Aid others by giving my sympathy to those in distress, my aid to the weak, and my substance to the needy. To Be Careful with my criticism and liberal with my praise; to build up and not destroy

The History behind the Logo Every year thousands of small cranes cross over the Himalayas at an altitude of 8000m in V formation for their seasonal migration. They are known as demoiselle cranes and they are the smallest species in the crane family of birds. During the summer, they reside in the steppes of Mongolia. As winter approaches they form groups (up to 400) and begin their southward journey to India. At 8,000 meters, the temperature is minus thirty Celsius and the oxygen saturation is only one third of the terrestrial oxygen level. Those brutal conditions make their migration a life or death journey in the truest sense. A fitting logo for our organization that nears 100 years

NEW CLUB DEVELOPMENT CHOOSING A CLUB FORMAT Our world is changing, and today’s volunteers are looking for new ways to become involved in relevant issues and serve in a way that fits their ever‐changing lifestyles. While community based clubs are our tradition, we realize that one size does not fit all. That’s why we offer several club formats for you to choose from:
• Traditional Lions clubs are ideal for bringing together a group of community‐minded people to serve the needs of their community. They offer flexibility to reach new groups of people and serve a variety of communities. • Campus Lions clubs are designed for college and university students, administrators, faculty, alumni and other community‐minded individuals. Members serve the campus community while developing valuable leader‐ ship and business skills. Additionally, students are eligible to receive a special dues discount to make membership more affordable. • Lioness Lions clubs offer current and former Lionesses the opportunity to honor their history as a Lioness while enjoying the benefits and privileges of being a Lion. Current and former Lionesses receive credit for their years of service as a Lioness and are recognized with a special Lioness pin. • Leo Lions clubs provide an easy transition from Leo to Lions clubs by offering a special dues discount to graduating Leos and their peers. To charter a Leo Lions club, a minimum of 10 graduating Leos is required. • Club branches enable a small group of at least five people to form a Lions club and start making a difference in their community sooner. Members become part of an existing “parent” Lions club, but select their own projects and activities.

LIONS CHILDREN FIRST ORGANIZE A FOOD DRIVE TO ALLEVIATE HUNGER
Hunger and poverty go hand in hand. Childhood hunger can cause irreversible damage. A lack of proper nutrition can harm a child’s mental and physical development. Hungry children have difficulty concentrating and focusing on schoolwork. Impoverished children are more likely to be hospitalized during childhood. Your involvement with a food drive in a community center, office, school or place of worship can help feed the hungry and make a difference in the life of a child.

Celebrating Lions Dedicated Service
The Chevron Award Program recognizes Lions for their long‐term service, beginning at 10 years and continuing in five year increments until 75 years of service. There are two different types of chevrons that vary slightly in appearance, the Charter Monarch Chevron, available to founding club members only, and the Monarch Chevron. Chevron awards for the current fiscal year are automatically sent to district governors in the first quarter for presentation to the recipients at an appropriate event, such as a district convention or other celebration. Replacement awards may be purchased through Club Supplies.
Leadership is critical to the overall success of any organization, including Lions Clubs International. The GLT directs its efforts toward identifying and cultivating effective leaders through active training and leadership development initiatives, while providing necessary information, guidance and motivation.
The Global Membership Team (GMT) provides a global structure for membership development which is continuous, focused, and integrated. Global Leadership Team, the GMT works in an interdependent manner with all Lions in the association for the benefit and success of the club. Members of the GMT and GLT work together to develop membership through service and engagement and also to support present Lions leaders and identify future leaders.
