U n t i l such t i m e a s i n d i v i d u a l romanization t a b l e s a r e developed f o r t h e A l t a i c languages w r i t t e n i n t h e Perso-Arabic s c r i p t (e.g., A z e r b a i j a n i ) , t h e L i b r a r y of Congress recommends t h e u s e o f t h e romanization t a b l e f o r Persian (cf. S e r v i c e , b u l l e t i n 119, F a l l 1976). A t t h e end o f t h i s i s s u e a r e two romanization schemes f o r t w o Asian languages.
D i v e h i , an Indo-Aryan l a n g u a g e s , a l s o c a l l e d Maldivian, i s t h e o f f i c i a l language o f t h e Republic o f Maldives. It i s w r i t t e n i n an a d a p t a t i o n of t h e Perso-Arabic s c r i p t . Moplah ( o r Mopla) is t h e form of Malayalam used by Moslems o f K e r a l a ; i t i s w r i t t e n i n t h e Perso-Arabic s c r i p t . Both t a b l e s have been approved by t h e ALA/RTSD/ CCS/Committee on Cataloging: Asian and African M a t e r i a l s .
