In 1989, I was the first author of John E.B. Myers, Jan Bays, Judith V. Becker, David L. Corwin & Karen J. Saywitz, Expert Testimony in Child Sexual Abuse Litigation, 68 Nebraska Law Review 1-145 (1989). In 1996, Deborah J. Merrit and Malanie Putman published Judges and Scholars: Do Courts and Scholarly Journals Cite the Same Law Review Articles?, 71 Chicago-Kent Law Review 871-908 (1996). Merrit and Putman examined how often courts cited law review articles during the years 1989-1991. During those years, the Nebraska Law Review article was cited more often by courts than any other law review article. In 1997, R. Kim Oates and Anne C. Donnelly published Influential Papers in Child Abuse, 21 Child Abuse & Neglect 319-26 (1997). Oates and Donnelly conducted a survey of experts in the field of child protection to determine which articles or book chapters they believed had been the most influential. The Nebraska Law Review article was cited by professionals as one of the 30 most influential papers in the child abuse literature.
