2012 Distinguished Alumna Nominees How did your education at Little Flower influence your life? Little Flower provided me with a broad learning experience, which prepared me for any path that I might choose. What would you tell today’s students they should take with them when leaving LF? I would suggest that you take advantage of Sr. Jeannemarie everything Little Flower has to offer. It will Jordon ’61 broaden your horizons and help you to be ready for the future. What was your most significant experience as a student? As a student at Little Flower, I played basketball. I learned to be part of a team and this certainly helped me in the life I chose as a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph. Who was your role model/mentor at LF? I met Sister Mary Aquin, SSJ in my junior year at Little Flower. She exhibited a spirit of great love, care and joy. Sister was happy to truly listen to me and support and affirm me in positive areas. I loved her little "giggle" when I told her stories about my weekend dates and activities. She was kind to all of the students. When I told her that I was going to enter religious life, she was the only one who said, "I'm not surprised". I will always remember her. I also learned much from my basketball coach, Marty. She always encouraged me no matter how bad the game was going. When I became a coach I remember that Marty said “It was the love of the game and not just the winning that mattered.” How involved are you in the Alumnae Association? Being a Sister of St. Joseph limits my involvement in the Alumnae Association. The Association and Little Flower staff and students are always remembered in my prayers. What instilled the most confidence in you to become the person you are today? The teachers and Sisters were excellent at giving you confidence as you progressed through the years. Each time you accomplished a goal, you were praised for your hard work. Though I didn't excel in a particular area, my years at Little Flower provided me with a foundation to do anything I put my mind to do.
How did your education at Little Flower influence your life? My four years at Little Flower enriched me in many ways. Academically, I felt well-prepared for college because I was taught to treasMaureen ure my Catholic Education and welcome any Mahon ’79 opportunities that enabled me to grow as a solid Catholic. The atmosphere at LF had a great influence upon my self determination to be a woman of faith and to spread Christ’s love to others. On another note, my fond memories of LF are forever with me. What would you tell today’s students they should take with them when leaving LF? I would recommend that the students take with them all that they have learned during their time at Little Flower. Stay close to their friends. I graduated from Little Flower in 1979. Just last month I went away with 18 of my closest friends who graduated with me from LF. I feel very blessed to have made life long friends during my high school years. What was your most significant experience as a student? The most significant experience was my involvement in CSC. Some of my fondest memories are visiting nursing homes, helping the students at Our Lady of Confidence, and learning to Irish Step Dance in the halls of Little Flower and then taking the show on the road to the Little Sisters of the Poor. God has blessed me with a wonderful husband and five children. Growing up in our house our children were always told that “service was not an option.” They, too, became very involved in CSC during their high school days. We often talk about our similar experiences with Operation Santa Claus, visiting the Little Sisters of the Poor and helping with the students at Our Lady of Confidence. My children were serving the same organizations that I served when I was in high school. Who was your role model/mentor at LF? Miss Klarich – now Sister Kathleen Klarich, is a wonderful example of a person who lives a humble, simple life. How appropriate that she would now be the principal of Little Flower. A perfect fit! When I first met her I was taken by her kind gentle manner in which she treated students and faculty alike. She encour(Continued on page 2)
FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK . . . Dear Alumnae and Friends! May God bless your New Year with much happiness and good health! You are receiving this a bit later than usual because I was waiting for the recommendations of the Archdiocesan Blue Ribbon Commission. (I just could not gather my thoughts before Christmas). You may recall in previous commuSister Donna Shallo, nications, I mentioned that this I.H.M., LF President group had been formed by Cardinal Rigali to study all of the elementary and secondary schools. Because of declining enrollment throughout the Archdiocese, decisions had to be made regarding underutilized buildings, merging schools, and recommended closings. On January 6, we received word that Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls would REMAIN OPEN. It was a déjà vu’ moment for those of us who were present that day in December of 1992, when our principal at the time, Ms. Marie Gallagher, gave us the good news. On January 6, the girls expressed their joy and relief with a standing ovation as tears streamed down their faces. Of course, we prayed in gratitude for the powerful intercession of our dear patroness, St. Therese, and sang our beautiful “Alma Mater.” What a special LF moment that was!! I realize that because of the ability of Facebook and Twitter, for many of you this is old news already. Sister Joan Ames said she could not keep up with all of the “friend” requests☺ It pleased me to no end to read the messages Alumnae from various decades sent to their classmates inviting them to financially support Little Flower.
It is my dream that a “new generation” of supporters will surface at this time. We need you to help us SUSTAIN this wonderful mission. You can see from the “Cups of Caring” on pages 4-5 the support we have received from July 1 to December 31 from the various decades. We are grateful to those who have responded but we have a ways to go. Like St. Therese, we follow the “little way” and I am not asking for a major gift—$25 from each Alumna who has not yet become financially active will be a tremendous help because there are close to 14,000 Alumnae in that category. We accept on-line donations for your convenience and if you would like to set up a monthly payment plan, just contact Sister Joan Ames at
[email protected]. Remember, it is the donations Little Flower has been receiving from 1992 until the present that SAVED US AT THIS TIME. Those donations stabilized our enrollment because each year we are able to offer the parents tuition assistance, lessening their monthly payments. Here is a staggering statistic—in 2001 our enrollment was 791 and today it is 742—a difference of ONLY 49 students in 10 years. I thank all of you who have made this possible through your financial support. Let us remember in prayer the school communities of St. Hubert, West Catholic, Conwell-Egan, and Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast High Schools which will be closing in June. You know how you would feel… Thank you and God bless you! Fondly,

aged me, by her example, to get involved and help others. Her gentleness and compassion touched my life. How involved are you in the Alumnae Association? With 5 children between the ages of 17 thru 25 I have not had a lot of time to be involved in the Alumnae Association. I have attended all of my reunions and several reunions at the shore. Because of my wonderful experience at Little Flower I have always encouraged my children to be involved in their schools. What instilled the most confidence in you to become the person you are today? I would have to credit my Catholic Education. Having attended St. Martin of Tours grade school and four years at Little Flower, it is my greatest treasure. The fact that Little Flower is an all girls high school is a huge part of my confidence. It allowed me to grow in my faith without all the distractions. I loved my time there and when my daughters where considering high schools I strongly considered Little Flower, but was afraid of the distance. Page 2 / Winter 2012

ADVANCEMENT NOTES . . . Dear Alumnae and Friends of Little Flower: WOW! I ordinarily would begin my letter by wishing you many blessings in the New Year. But in light of the tremendous response of our alumnae and friends to the January 6 announcement that Little Flower would be among the High Schools of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Sister Joan M. Ames, IHM to remain open, I must begin with Director of Advancement WOW! Knowing how anxious our LF family would be to hear the recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Commission, which has studied all elementary and secondary school for the past year, I put a short message on Facebook, Linked-In and Constant Contact stating that Little Flower would remain open. Never underestimate the power of social media – The Official Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls Facebook Group grew from 735 to 1236 members in four days! The recent announcement has generated a lot of enthusiasm. Please don’t let the enthusiasm dwindle. Keep it alive! Daily, we feel the blessings of God, St. Therese, and you, our faithful alumnae and friends, in so many ways. Your continued support and generosity to Little Flower helps award tuition assistance to our present Little Flower students, and thus sustain our mission! We ask your prayers for the four high schools recommended to close in June 2012 – St. Hubert, West Catholic, Conwell-

As details become available, they will be posted on the Alumnae page of Little Flower’s website: www.littleflowerhighschool.org During the month of March, we engage in our Annual Phon-a-thon, which generates about $60,000. We surely can use your help to make this venture as successful as possible. Many alumnae really look forward to hearing the voice of another alum. Please consider coming to Little Flower for an evening (or two) to make phone calls. It surely is a rewarding experience. understand how present circumstances could affect the amount of your annual donation. That is why if you consider leaving Little Flower a Bequest, your gift could be significantly larger when it might otherwise not be possible. Our dreams and aspirations for future generations can come true through the Legacy Society. If you have already included Little Flower in your estate plans, please let us know so that we can thank you at our Annual Legacy Society Event on May 3. (Invitations will be sent in April). If you have any questions, etc. please contact Sister Donna at 215-455-6900, ext. 112. God bless you and have a Happy and Healthy New Year!
There are several ways to support LF, all of which are truly appreciated and necessary for the financial health of the school. Often an Alumna will say, “I wish I could give more.” We

Little Flower Legacy Society I currently live in Michigan, a beautiful state surrounded by the Great Lakes. If you look at an Atlas, or even at tonight’s national weather forecast on TV, you’ll see that Michigan is shaped like a mitten. When someone says they’re from Michigan, they raise their right hand and point to the Carole McVeigh Lally, ’55 approximate location of their city or town. At the end of this year, I am retiring from a major law firm where I’ve worked for over twenty-one years. What do I plan to do post-retirement? By mid-January I’ll be in a classroom becoming certified to teach English as a second language. It’s payback time. In 1979 and 1980, I lived in eastern Europe and I couldn’t speak a word of the local language. Before I was able to enroll in a language school, my landlady gave me a crash course so I could get around the city and make myself understood. Soon I hope to be doing the same for someone else. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll be doing that back in Philadelphia. In September I spent a week visiting family and friends in Philadelphia and New Jersey. Whenever I return to my roots, I drive through Bridesburg past the house where I grew up, stop at All Saints Church where I was married, and pass the company where I formerly worked. I reminisce further by driving the bus and trolley routes that I used to take to get to Little Flower. Along the way, it’s always interesting to see what has changed and what hasn’t. When I arrive at Little Flower, it’s so good to see that it is still here bustling with activity. On this particular visit, I didn’t just drive by. I visited with Sister Donna, and we talked for a long time about our beloved school. As I think back on my high school experience, I am extremely grateful to my parents, Grace and Bill McVeigh, who made more sacrifices to send me and my siblings to Catholic school than I can ever imagine. Only years later did I realize that every time my father took a “second job,” it was to “make ends meet.” I’m not sure anyone’s mother ever came

up with more creative ways to make a pound of meat feed a family of six than mine did. They were committed to giving us a quality education – one that would prepare us for a lifetime – and for me, that meant attending Little Flower. Today, parents throughout the metropolitan Philadelphia area are making similar sacrifices to send their daughters to our alma mater. Every day my mailbox, like yours, is filled with requests to send money to one deserving organization after another…veterans’ groups, public television, homeless shelters, soup kitchens. They are all in need, and all deserve our support. But what is the ONE that made the most indelible impression on your life – that played a major role in you becoming the person that you are today? LITTLE FLOWER. In 2008, as a tribute to my parents and also to the dedicated nuns who were integral in preparing me for my future, I made a commitment to the Legacy Society. It took just a few minutes. No pain involved. Just a conscious decision to include Little Flower in my estate plan in order for it to remain a viable institution and one about which we can continue to be proud for many years to come. I urge all of you to do the same. In fact, I challenge all alumnae, and particularly those in the Class of 1955, to join me in securing the future of our beloved school. Little Flower offers our student body a caring and nurturing environment. In addition, they offer an educational foundation that will propel them into the finest institutions of higher learning and whatever careers they desire. You can help them to follow their dreams and achieve their goals. In a “Sequel” that I’ve saved from Winter 2009, Sister Donna said, “Without money, there is no mission.” Please join me in making a commitment to the Legacy Society – as a tribute to your parents, many of whom made sacrifices so that you could attend Little Flower. Do it in their honor. There are bumper stickers that read: I’m spending my children’s inheritance. Please don’t spend it all. Remember to put something in your will or estate plan that benefits present and future Little Flower students. Whatever you are able to do will provide a gift so precious that its worth will benefit others for a long time.

ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION NEWS . . . Dear Alumnae: A Happy and Healthy New Year to all of you. Hopefully, this letter will find all of you enjoying 2012. When I accepted the Distinguished Alum Award at graduation, I did so on behalf of all the past, present and future officers of the Alumnae Association. It is an honor and a privilege to represent you as the Distinguished Alum and as a current officer on the board. I have held Dolly Ellis Brophy many board offices and while doing so have met some wonderful ladies ’59 who helped me grow both spiritually and mentally. These ladies have given so much of their time, talent and treasure to further the Little Flower Tradition and they are to be commended. Any attempt to list names would ensure missing someone. The ladies who were the backbone of the board from 1941 until the present know who they are and I want to publicly acknowledge you by saying THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART for your dedication, love of Little Flower and your friendship. You are my role models; you sacrificed and helped make LF the wonderful school it is, today. Our school is the home of graduates who are part of the business world, education field, at home moms, and volunteers for all types of organizations and charities (Little Flower being the main one). A Little Flower education prepared us to be women of the world and our contributions are legendary. As women of the world, we forget to take care of ourselves. Blessed Mother Teresa said “To keep a lamp burning we have to keep putting oil in it.” We need to continue to replenish our bodies both spiritually and physically. This replenishment is a lifelong responsibility to ourselves and our families. My classmate friends from LF have provided over 50 years of friendship and support. We are lucky to be able to do this. I like to remember “A friend is the nicest thing you can have and one of the best things you can be.” We can and should continue to be friends of Little Flower. LF grads are a group to be reckoned with – we are all over the world, wherever you travel you will met one of us. The Class of 2012’s motto is: “Girls will be girls, but Little Flower Girls will always be Ladies”. It is written somewhere that “What you are – is God’s gift to you; what you make of yourself, is your gift to God.” We, LF ladies are great at giving God lots of gifts. As a group we have accomplished much – our school is vibrant; our girls are well educated and, hopefully, will continue to love LF as much as we do. Our patroness St. Theresa is known as the Saint of Little Ways; she believed in doing the little things in life well. When we follow her example and work on the little challenges in life the bigger ones will be a breeze. When you look back thru LF’s history you can see that we have met and exceed these challenges. The parents of today’s young ladies struggle to support our school but do so, because they want a Catholic Education Page 8 / Winter 2012
for their daughters. We the alumnae are able to provide support thru our generous donations to all the LF fund raising activities. You can be sure that the students who benefit from your generosity are grateful. To put today’s struggles in perspective – my education was free. I paid a $15 book fee. Today’s students and parents are paying over $5000 a year to attend our beloved school. These parents and students need all the assistance we can give them both financially and thru our prayers. I would like to conclude with something my granddaughter runs around her house shouting WE ARE … and fills in the name of the school. We who follow the traditions of LF and the efforts of all who love and believe in LF ; WE can truly say WE ARE LITTLE FLOWER. I know I will be a LF lady as long as I live. Ladies please continue to be LF ladies and be as supportive as you can of our school and students. Thank you and may God and our Patroness St. Theresa bless all of you!

Little Flower Student Attends FBI National Academy Youth Leadership Program by Ashleigh Gallagher ’14
The FBI National Academy was started in 1935 in Washington, D.C. It is a ten-week session that is held four times a year in Quantico, Virginia. Police commanders and military supervisors from around the globe are selected to attend. Participants must complete academic classes and physical training in order to pass. My Father, John Gallagher, is a captain with the Philadelphia Police Department. He is a graduate of the 231st Session, which was held in the Fall of 2007. For the past 14 years, the FBI National Academy has sponsored the Youth Leadership Program. It is ten-day camp that is designed to mirror the FBI National Academy experience for pre-sophomore and pre-junior students who are the children of FBI National Academy alumni and FBI agents. To be considered, interested candidates must submit a three-page application and a one-page essay. Then, they are subjected to an extensive interview process by a three-person board. There are approximately 60 such boards throughout the world. Each board can only nominate one candidate for the Program.
On April 7, 2011, I was fortunate enough to be chosen by the board that represents the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates as their nominee for Session 14. I had to compete against eleven other students in the region. Needless to say, I was honored to get this opportunity. I left for Quantico on June 22, 2011. Saying goodbye to my family was hard for me, because it was the first time that I was away from home without them. My Dad drove me there. At first, I was homesick and found it difficult to be
living in a dormitory with people that I had never even met. Each morning, I awoke at 5:00 a.m. to prepare for physical training that started at 5:30a.m. After I finished my workouts, I changed into my normal uniform to get ready for an 8:00 a.m. class start. We broke for lunch at 12 noon, but had to be back in the classroom by 1:00 p.m. Academics usually concluded by 6:00 p.m. Once we finished dinner, I either had another physical challenge or had to meet my counselor with other students for a group discussion. I also had the chance to interact with international students during evening hours. I am grateful that I met so many people. Any regrets that I had about being there disappeared once I made friends and became familiar with the campus. However, we were all exhausted by the end of each day. We took one day out of our normal schedule and went to Washington, D.C. It felt great to escape the school atmosphere and explore a place that I had never been to before with my new friends. The counselors took us to the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, Ford's Theater, The National Mall and The Law Enforcement Memorial. I was deeply moved by what I saw at these places. This trip was definitely the highlight of the Program. Our final day consisted of a five-mile obstacle course called The Yellow Brick Road, which I successfully completed in 54 minutes. I was so happy that I finished it. After that, we had to take a final test on everything that we learned in class. When my time at the FBI Academy came to a close, I realized how lucky I was to have attended such a program. I made life-long friends and experienced things that few people ever will. There are only 700 people that can say that they are graduates of the FBI National Academy Youth Leadership Program and now a student from Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls is one of them. Furthermore, I was the first and only Little Flower student ever to be selected for it. Today, when I think about it, I feel very proud of what I had accomplished while I was there, yet disappointed at the same time, because I know that I will never return. Nevertheless, while I was there, I did my best to represent not only my family and the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates, but also our beloved school.

Eighth Annual Grandparents’ Day Eight years ago, Little Flower sponsored its First Annual Grandparents’ Day. Happy to say, the response of our grandparents is overwelming. Grandparents, enthusiastically, look forward to this event each year. Over the years Grandparents’ Day has grown into Grandparents’ Days. So, on December 7, Little Flower invited Grandparents of our Senior and Freshman class to join us for a performance of our School Play, “White Christmas” and a Luncheon. Then on December 15, Little Flower treated Grandparents of Juniors and Sophomores to our LF Christmas Concert, followed by a Luncheon. Over 600 grandparents were able to join us. The following Alumnae grandmothers joined their granddaughter(s) for the festivities. Thank You… My sincere thanks to all of you who attended the Annual Christmas Luncheon on December 10. And, a big thank you to all who donated to the Scholarship Fund. Your continued generosity and support of our efforts to assist today’s students is greatly appreciated by the entire Little Flower Community. A special thank you to Dolly Ellis Brophy ‘59 for stepping in at the last minute to Chair the Luncheon and to all who helped make a success of this event. Next year's Luncheon will be held at Rosewood on December 8 at 12:30. I hope you plan to attend. I would also like to thank those who attended the Annual Mass and Luncheon on November 6 at Saint Katherine of Siena Church. It was a huge success with many new faces in attendance. Next year’s Mass will be held at Saint Albert the Great Church on Welsh Road in Huntingdon Valley. The date is November 4. A big thank you for your prayers, cards, e-mails, phone calls and good wishes for my recovery from the fractured leg I sustained when I fell stepping off the lectern the morning of the Annual Mass. Hopefully by the time you are reading this, I will no longer be in a wheelchair and no longer wearing a brace. It has been a very long 12 weeks. I can truly say that I’ve given my all to Little Flower this year. Watch for the Registration Form for both events in the summer Sequel and the Donor Report. Joan Siburkis Schott ’58

Love at the End of the Hall by Angelique Darcy-McGuire ’89 The Little Flower spirit has enveloped me since my eighth grade eyes were invited to gaze upon this amazing institution during open house many, many years ago... As I grew into a young woman in those sacred halls, chit chatting at my locker or sauntering to class, I would catch a glimpse of the statue of St. Therese at the end of the corridor and just as easily as breathing, would murmur “St. Therese of the Little Flower, pray for us.” I’m not sure which teacher planted the seed of that lovely daily affirmation in my mind, but I’ve kept it with me throughout my life. I have prayed to our patroness, St. Therese many times since our auspicious Graduation Day but I have called upon her more than ever these past few years. And this is really why… I first understood the meaning of love ~ REAL love~ when I realized as a mother, a wife, a teacher, that love is not just one emotion. No… it embodies itself as three for me: regal, raw and radiant. Sometimes entwined in exactly that trinity of a mystery… I have been on this Earth (in this form) for four decades. What have I learned? REAL love is regal. Having parents who’ve loved me unconditionally from the moment of conception and being adored as an only child (singular not by my parents’ choice – my celestial unborn brothers and sisters can attest to that…) was regal in that they marinated me in fancy and whim yet clothed me in spiritual nurturing and in the moral fabric of generosity. They sacrificed so that I could have a solid Catholic School education from toddler to teenager. Being an “only” I was given a lot, yes. But I was also taught to GIVE a lot- to be a lamp, a lifeboat or a ladder to others. Yes. A gift of parental love wrapped regally, one that gives, to this day exponentially. I first understood the meaning of LOVE as radiant the moment my eyes locked onto my husband’s for the very first time on a starry seashore eve. Radiant. The way his fingers fit into mine with such effortless ease. The way he cupped my cheeks in his hands the day we said, I do.” The magical minute my newborn daughter all fresh and pink and swaddled from Heaven was placed in my trembling arms. Radiant. The way she smiles at me through freckles and newly hatched eightyear-old teeth when we giggle and laugh and play. Radiant. It’s the sunshine reflecting off the ocean, her smile… It’s the kisses of my family and the embraces of caring and nurturing friends who are there for me tirelessly and selflessly. It’s the “lightbulb” of connection when a student whom I’m teaching really “gets” the knowledge I’m aspiring to impart… It’s LOVE in its radiant form. It has to be. It must balance out the times when LOVE must be raw. Page 14 / Winter 2012
Real love is raw – when my husband raised my cell phone to my face to reveal a picture of our beautiful freckled girl to my weeping eyeballs and crying mouth because I was begging him like a dog in the street to take me out of that chemotherapy lab and to just forget it and let breast cancer have its way with me. It’s when he put that photo in my face and said REAL SIMPLY, “THIS is why you’ll stay.” And so I did. Raw. When it brought my ears a newscast while driving to work three years later after we BOTH survived the wickedness of cancer (his lymphoma, mine breast) that there was a critically injured firefighter suffering life-threatening damage while rescuing families from a high rise of roaring flames and unrelenting smoke and I realized instinctively, without human confirmation: that’s my husband. Raw – but very VERY real – when I stood by his bedside in ICU for many, many suns and moons wiping strings of saliva from the sides of his intubated mouth and tears from his smoke filled, fear filled, love filled eyes with about seven thousand tissues (the ones with the lotion infused, of course, because they’re just better. It’s all about the details!) wiping over and over and over and over. Inhaling his pain. Exhaling my love. Over and over and over and over. Raw. When my sweet Lionhearted soul mate was on life support and I called beyond Jesus our Friend and Brother. I called beyond God our Father. I cried out beyond the Holy Spirit and all the angels and saints I ever knew or heard about. I mentally rested my weary head and heart into St. Therese’s lap of roses and begged her to help make me strong. I called upon the spirits of the precious babies we lost while trying to grow our family with MORE love –inviting their tender spirits to surround us while I stood exhausted at his bedside swaying, standing, praying for those baby angels to help their Daddy on whatever dimension they happened to be dwelling in. Yes, I first understood the meaning of love living all of these experiences. It is regal. It is radiant. It is raw. All of its faces are resplendent in courage and generosity. The faces of family and friends. The faces of nurses and therapists and teachers and strangers who sent prayers and meals. And hope. Love is in the countless communications of schoolchildren sending letters and crayoned stick figures of gratitude and admiration for a firefighter whom they’ve never met. Love rejoices when parents and partners step up to life’s not so sunny challenges and then REAL LOVE rolls over in rose petals and cream when people employ the most basic of human gifts – to give of THEMSELVES to each other – immeasurably as St. Francis of Assisi taught – to be a channel of God’s peace... Constantly. Consistently. Unsolicited. Pure. Although it houses itself in many shapes, I first understood the meaning of love as it is ever present, always permeating compassionate breaths and sweet gestures and comforting words. (Continued on page 15)
Love at the End of the Hall…continued
My story is lucky enough to have a happy ending – yes – after all of THAT! I am certain all the goodness I learned throughout my years at Little Flower helped shore my fortitude. Those priceless four years with my friends and my teachers and the community we were guided to help prepared me for the path I had no idea I needed to walk. For the example I needed to set ~ not only for my students, for my family, for my friends ~ but for MYSELF. People ask “How did you do that?” “How did you get through it?” I picture that still and beautiful face at the end of the hallway … embracing roses and emanating love. … giving freely to all who are resolute enough to ask for it. I shall learn from LOVE. Live in it. Be certain to share it. And pass on its message. Because whether regal, radiant or raw – it’s for REAL!

Auditorium Makeover When our Alumnae return to Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, they always remark on how well kept the building is and that is true. However, there is a part of the building that looks “tired” and that is the auditorium. This summer, we purchased a new green stage curtain containing the school seal and had just the front of the auditorium seats upholstered. Why just the front? These chairs are original to the building and are a remembrance of all of our 34,000 plus cherished Alumnae, their families and friends who sat in them over the course of four years, their first day of school, during Mass, Adoration, Ring Mass, Assemblies, Installations, Baccalaureate, Plays and Concerts, etc. Would you like to have a part in the restoration of the Auditorium chairs and be remembered for your contribution? You are invited to donate $150. to dedicate an Auditorium chair in memory of or in honor of someone special in your LF life (a special teacher, director, cast friend, or someone in your personal life.) If you are interested, please send your donation payable to Little Flower High School, attention Sister Donna, along with the following dedication form.

The St. Therese Commemorative Rose Garden YOU can still be a part of the St. Therese Commemorative Rose Garden. Think of the person or persons who have touched your life and whose names you would like to place at the feet of St. Therese. Give yourself and those special people a reason to return and sit on the contemplative bench before St. Therese. Your commemorative brick can be engraved in memory of or in honor of an Alumna, family member or friend.
Commemorative Brick Order Form Cost: $150.00 for a 4 x 8 brick. Up to 3 lines and 15 characters per line for each brick.
